| KEHRC enters into SIXTH year : |

Kalinga Eye Hospital and Research Centre has successfully completed its 6th year of its foundation. Born in the remote village of Santhasara as a wing of NYSASDRI the development organization KEHRC has come a long way In the mean time it has not only created a record by operating 5000 cataract surgeries in a year but also screened school children..The staffs of the hospital who work hard relentlessly for the last four years in spite of all odds must take the credit of successful running of the show. Within these five years we have successfully screened more than 5,00,000 adult and 121,000 pediatric eyes, able to perform more than 22000 adult & 107 pediatric eye surgeries, trained 550 school teachers, 250- Anganwadi workers on primary eye screening procedures. And able to serve the Dhenkanl, Angul, sambalpur,Kendrapara,deogarh,bhadrak,keonjhar Jajpur & Jagatsinghpur. |
Eye Donation Fortnight : |
A fortnight was celebrated on Eye Donation, during this fortnight Banners were displayed in different places of our service area. Folders were distributed to people in the base hospital as well as in the campsite on Eye Donation. Moreover, people were counseled on eye donation. Tele vision ads were displayed on Eye donation in the local cable TVs. In addition, talks were given in three schools (Girls High School, Dhenkanal Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dhenkanal & Monfort English Medium School, Dhenkanal) on the eye donation. |

To enhance the quality of service in Kalinga Eye Hospital, it has decided to send its both clinical & non clinical staffs to the Apex eye care centre of India. and this year they have sent Dr. Susanta Kumar Jagadal for Pediatric Ophthalmology, Miss Sabita Behera for Counseling, Miss Sashmita Khuntia for OT, Mr. Sanjay Yadav for Optometrist and the Project Manager Mr. Suneel Kumar Mishra in the Project Management Training to Aravind Eye Care System, Madurai. |
