What KEHRC offers

KEHRC is a comprehensive model for the eradication of visual impairment in central Orissa. It is a non-profit organization that focuses on offering quality eye care to all. Through large scale, organized efforts, KEHRC ensures that no individual is denied eye care for financial reasons. Modern surgical procedures and eye health needs are attended to by experienced, well trained medical team in our contemporary facility located in Denkanhal.

Kalinga Eye Hospital is composed of several eye care departments including out patient service, a surgical department and a pediatric eye center. Each provides an array of diagnostic and treatment services to all populations. Out-reach services are provided free of cost to below poverty line patients.

All of our patients receive a routine medical check up. We also offer comfortable accommodation on site.

Hospital Out Patient and Surgical Services :

The Out Patient Department (O.P.D.) and Surgical Service Center composes the backbone of the Kalinga Hospital. Profits from these two departments are used to finance our out-reach program.

The Out-Patients’ Department provides diagnostic and treatment services from 8 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm, everyday. It is open to all sections of the society and the community members are provided non-discriminatory services at an affordable cost.

An average of 50-60 patients visit the O.P.D. section, daily. The O.P.D. section is fully equipped with modern equipment and facilities. Trained paramedics, along with experienced doctors provided the OPD services. The patients are given surgical services at the Hospital. Referrals can be made if our hospital cannot provide the service needed.

Kalinga has recently expanded their pediatric eye care unit. This dedicated unit has modern equipment and a specialized health care team to deliver comprehensive, high -quality eye care services to children.

Kalinga’s Out-Reach Department

Our mobile diagnostic camp visits rural communities 5 times per week. During this time, over 100 patients are screened and treated.

The majority of patients seen at these camps are in need of cataract surgery. KEHRC provides transportation for cataract surgery patients to and from the hospital as well as accommodation on site. The camps also aim at raising awareness regarding eye health and prescribing treatment for minor eye disease such as vitamin A deficiency and conjunctivitis.

Kalinga Medicine store & Kalinga Optical Centre :

KEHRC is committed to providing comprehensive eye care to their patients. The hospital has opened a Medicine Store and Optical Service Centre close to by the hospital campus. The conveniently located center provides high quality medicine, lenses and spectacles.

The Optical Service Center provides single vision lenses, bifocal lenses, progressive lenses and addition lenses. An array of frames, reading glasses and high index lenses are also offered. Experienced and trained optometrists are available to serve you. The medical shop offers quality eye care medicine as well as medicine for other ailments.
